    1. how did you select these classes?
      1. based on interest
      2. based on requirements for your degree program
    2. did would you evaluate the “outside classes”?
      1. a waste of time
      2. okay
      3. an enrichment of your education
      4. if you had a choice: would you take more outside classes?
  2. to be a well educated graduate in your respective discipline — what do you consider the most important objectives?
    1. did CU offer classes for you to meet these objectives?
    2. have you pursued these objectives outside of classes (in other settings at CU; outside of CU)?
  3. what do you consider the most important impact of new media and human-centered computing on YOUR education?
which classes did you take outside of your chosen discipline?
As an undergraduate I switched minors 3 times. So I have taken classes in economics, business, finance, nutrition, and computer science.
how did you select these classes? (e.g. based on interest or based on requirements for your degree program)
I selected these classes mainly on interest, but also on what was required to complete a minor.
how would you rate the “outside classes”? (e.g. a waste of time or an enrichment of your education)
I actually thoroughly enjoyed all the outside classes that I took. I feel like they provided a nice balance to my Applied Mathematics curriculum and allowed me to keep the non-analytic side of my brain engaged.
if you had a choice: would you take more outside classes?
I would. At this point I am more interested in taking more science classes just to round at my degree, but I enjoy academic material in general and would take as many outside classes as I could.
to be a well educated graduate in your respective discipline — what do you consider the most important objectives?
Problem solving is key. I mean, I could just play chess 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 32 weeks a year and supposedly develop the same problem solving ability; but seeing as I went to college instead I think that the main tool I have acquired is problem solving ability. Its also important for people within the school of engineering to be good communicators.
did CU offer classes for you to meet these objectives?
Yes, I feel like the material and format that the material was presented in was conducive to accomplishing both objectives.
have you pursued these objectives outside of classes (in other settings at CU; outside of CU)?
Absolutely, I am not naturally an outgoing person. I do not believe  that being  outgoing is necessarily a requisite for being a good communicator, but it doe s give you more opportunities to practice.
hat do you consider the most important impact of new media and human-centered computing on YOUR education?
I think that its really interesting how hcc is bringing focus back to the user and not solely focusing on engineering. For my education, the ultimate goal of which was to get a job, I have found that in interviews technical proficiency has been almost as important as the ability to communicate. HCC stresses the need for an interface to be able to communicate with a user intuitively and visa versa .
