Good job. You could also look into drive-sharing websites. There are actually a few in the Boulder area, for example to catch a ride up to the mountains during ski-season.
CU/Boulder actually has ego Carshare (carshare.org). While it is not public transportation per se, that is, is uses the same amount of fossil fuels as privately owned cars when going from A to B, you are reducing the material and energy costs needed to produce another car – of course it's an interesting question if that's something "good" in times of a bad economy an failing car manufacturers :)
