- what do you consider the most important impact of new media and human-centered computing on YOUR education?
- which classes did you take outside of your chosen discipline?
- Psychology, Humanities, Sociology, Geography
- how did you select these classes? (e.g. based on interest or based on requirements for your degree program)
- I chose them such that they would fulfill necessary requirements but tried to choose those which sounded interesting to me.
- how would you rate the “outside classes”? (e.g. a waste of time or an enrichment of your education)
- I really enjoyed a couple of them and a few others seemed to be a waste of time. I learned things in all the classes and they made my education more well rounded.
- if you had a choice: would you take more outside classes?
- I would given a wide range of classes to choose from. It is nice to take a class purely out of interest, it makes it more enjoyable to do work for the class and I tend to do well in classes I enjoy.
- to be a well educated graduate in your respective discipline — what do you consider the most important objectives?
- In computer science I feel it is mostly about very specific skills not necessarily including outside classes.
- did CU offer classes for you to meet these objectives?
- Yes, CU does a very good job with teaching you what is needed for computer science.
- have you pursued these objectives outside of classes (in other settings at CU; outside of CU)?
- Not really, I find myself busy enough with school.
- hat do you consider the most important impact of new media and human-centered computing on YOUR education?
- It is growing field in computer science and is important because it will be a huge development area soon.
