What makes Sketchup unique among the 3D modeling tools? I have used Strata Studio 3D (now Strata 3D), AutoCAD, and VIZ (now Autodesk 3ds Max). What differentiates Sketchup from these competitive 3D packages? It takes time to learn any software package. I would like to know what makes it worth my time (and other professionals) to learn Sketchup.

3. 3D Warehouse

Are 3D Warehouse Sketchup models transportable into Second Life or other 3D virtual worlds? The Google 3D Warehouse is a great place to share models. However, it's not a social site where the models can be used. The models in the Google 3D Warehouse could be a resource to help build virtual worlds. Is Sketchup compatible with virtual worlds now or are there plans to make it compatible?
