- It is difficult to create a toolset that is simple yet powerful and full featured. The aim of SketchUp seems to place importance on accessibility to the common user. Was the original intent of SketchUp, in its earliest stages, to create a commercial tool for professionals to express ideas or a simple free modeling program for the general populace? Also, to what extent has SketchUp been accepted and utilized (i.e. in educational environments, the workplace, etc.)?
