- Why doesn't SketchUp support an online support tool similar to Picasa for more limited and private model sharing?
Previously I have created models using SketchUp, but stopped because I found it painfully non-portable. The models I created were of buildings and objects I was very familiar with… say my parent's home. I never had any intention of uploading them to Google Earth or the 3D warehouse due too, possibly unwarranted, security concerns. Unlike other Google applications such as Docs and Picasa, I am unable to save my models online, for sharing and selective viewing by my family and friends. Instead, I found myself emailing rather large SketchUp files to my family annd having them install software just to view my model. - 3. 3D Warehouse
- If one of the goals of SketchUp, 3D Warehouse, and Google Earth is to completely model the world in 3D, why is there no feedback about what does not exist in the 3D model realm? Such as what major monuments have not been modeled, etc.
Do you know what percentage of Warehouse models incorporate a borrowed model/component in their design?
Although a simple search may quickly provide ample feedback as to whether or not a model exists, it seems more trouble than its worth, especially if you are just looking for interesting things to model.
