Task
Please post in the Wiki:- the project chosen and your description of it
- initial objectives
- why is the project of interest to you?
- how do you plan to approach the research?
- what do you expect to find out?
- what do you consider the major challenges?
- references identified
- questions you might have
Group response

- 2. Project Description
- Project
Our new project is to research how advanced wikis, in conjunction with social and technological practices, can foster community participation within a class setting. Objectives
Use the wiki as a shared resource that highlights materials created by the class and improves social and digital communication between participants. Interest in Project
We have noticed that most groups within a classroom are based on either prior relationships or where the students sit on the first day of class. We would like to expand the collaboration possibilities through both class-based and wiki-based exercises and technologies that help highlight interests and skills of the class participants and facilitates alternative group possibilities. This may facilitate a more diverse set of interest based communities that allows for member transposition and cross-group discussions. Research Approach
We will examine what features the XWiki has to increase access to class participants' work and develop discussion. We will research methods to arranging groups and fostering community within a class. These methods will be reviewed by other class participants to help assess and refine the possibilities. Major Challenges
Finding the appropriate level of action that nurtures organic growth and development may be difficult. Finding the middle ground between spontaneous and mandated participation will probably require several iterations and modifications based on both the class material and participants. - 3. Empty Field
- Both field and mountain
All taken by the snow
Till nothing yet remains.
