Benjamin Golden

Computer Science

3. In which semester of study are you?
8th, 4th at CU

4. Why are you interested in taking this course?
One of the main reasons I decided to take this class is because of what computers have and continue to do to the world around us. I find this to be one of the most interesting and inspiring phenomenons of our time. The opportunity for the growth and expansion of creativity that has been facilitated by the Internet is simply amazing. I am especially amazed by the reality of web 2.0; imdb, wikipedia, and YouTube are but the most obvious examples of the creativity, information, and productivity that can be attained with dynamic user input. The most amazing thing of all to me is that it seems that we have only begun to explore these new forms of design and creativity.

5. What courses / work activities / background knowledge do you have which might be relevant to this course?
Used Flickr API to develop a web gallery for Fort Lewis College. The gallery never went live, but it would have allowed international exchange studentes, both incoming and outgoing to post photos, name them, and tag them.

I would really like to learn more about additional implementations of Web 2.0 based content. And also the future of this method(web 2.0) of collaboration.
