*Hal Eden* is a senior researcher in the Department of Computer Science and Associate Director of the Center for LifeLong Learning & Design
([http://l3d.cs.colorado.edu|http://l3d.cs.colorado.edu/]) at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has been the lead developer on the Envisionment and Discovery Collaboratory (EDC) ([http://l3d.cs.colorado.edu/systems/EDC]) since its inception and has worked closely with domain experts on embodying innovative design practices in the EDC.
