In both case studies, the participants were largely responsible for their own data entry. Was data falsification, or cheating, a concern or noticed in either project? If the projects were to scale, how would one prevent falsification of information, especially if doctors were to use the information in treatment?

This question is important in that the researchers seemed to have a relatively large amount of contact with the participants in the DIMA project (every other day) and social competition was key in the Chick Clique project. If these projects were to scale to larger populations, it would seem data falsification and cheating would become more prevalent. This would be of special concern if doctors used the information to track health progress or ensure compliance to a healthy diet during treatments. Although these issues exist with traditional pen and paper diaries, the use of technology could potentially be used to help increase data reliability and improve the quality of care.
