Allowing spouses of WoW addicts to hire a group of players to assassinate their in-game characters. Would this work? Or are there rules against this sort of solid world - virtual world blending? Would players be able to too easily reincarnate? -
Colin Rieger, 2008/12/11 01:31It's an interesting idea but I dont think it would take off in the end. Depending on the server, players will either be able to kill each other at any time or they wont be able to unless both sides consent to a fight. Either way, the players can always resurrect and regain all of their equipment and anything they may have lost from the in game death. The only real way to completely get rid of a character is to Delete the character manually from the player's account. It's funny you should ask because recently a lady in Japan was jailed for deleting her ex-husband's online character in a Japanese game called MapleStory. http://www.kotaku.com.au/games/2008/10/japanese_woman_jailed_after_killing_virtual_husband-2.html
