#info('Nice work! Concise :)') 1.1.1.1 Digital Divide The Digital Divide is a matter of inequality between those who have access to digital information and those who do not have access to it. The belief is that there is a substantial link between poverty in countries and isolation from the rest of the world. Organizations such as the Digital Divide Network are working to close the digital divide and increase the flow of digital information through mobiles phones, wireless technology and the internet. Along with this technology comes a revolution in economics, politics, education and society for the isolated area. http://www.digitaldivide.net/ 1.1.1.1 Digital Divide for Government The concept of e-democracy where the effort is to bridge the gap between the government and their people. Commonly it seems that many governments don't know exactly what their people want or need. Bridging this gap would put government help where it is needed and create a healthy and much needed connection. Some efforts towards this cause have been made by the United States Agency for International Development with the Egyptian government. By educating them on new technology, #bubblec('the Egyptian society has become more knowledgeable about computers', 'That basically cries for a reference!') and are using it much more commonly. 1.1.1.1 CLever The CLever project was intended for someone who fits into the "have not" category pertaining to computers and technology. Not only technology but the girl did not have freedoms that most others do. She was entirely dependent on her mother to leave the house for any particular activity. Through the CLever project, the girl was given this freedom with the help of a computerized assistant to guide her way. Without this bond with technology, she likely never would be able to have this kind of freedom.
